All AIDS Walk funds are given to local Northern Nevada AIDS Service Organizations

These organizations fill out a Recipient Application that is scored based on the following three criteria by a panel of independent judges:

1    Effectiveness of the organization in the community

2.   The agency’s use of funds

3.    Participation in the success of the Reno AIDS Walk

Then each application is reviewed by each judge independently in addition to being reviewed amongst each other.  The only involvement the Reno AIDS Walk has in the process is providing judges with the past-meeting attendee list and a list of participants and events in which each agency was involved.

Each agency is then rated on a point system from each judge.  The three top-scoring agencies are awarded a percentage of funds weighted on these points.  This year, the judges will conduct personal interviews with members from each agency so they can ask additional questions to assist in better scoring practices.

Applications are due on May 31st for current year recipients.  Click here to download yours now.  Completed applications can be sent to Reno AIDS Walk, PO Box 71372, Reno, NV 89570 or faxed to (877) 825-AIDS.

Frontline has provided over 6,578 presentations to 194,294 attendees, mostly teens during the past 20 years. Frontline's prevention messages provide information allowing both teens and adults numerous opportunities to make safer and healthier choices.

Frontline speakers personalize the risk of HIV by putting a face on the disease and provide a safe and supportive environment for audiences to address their concerns and perceived risks of HIV infection and AIDS.

ACCEPT - Advancing Community Cultivation & Enhancing Progressive Transformations)
Our mission is to provide culturally-specific education and training to promulgate HIV/AIDS/STD and Substance Abuse prevention and exposing the myths and risky behaviors within the community, while providing a social forum for African-American churches, community organizations, support groups and people with HIV/AIDS. While our mission embraces all cultures, African Americans, the fastest growing at-risk population, are our primary.

Northern Nevada outreach Team (NNOT)
The Northern Nevada Outreach Team is the result of collaborative efforts which began in 1997 when several community based organizations mobilized in an effort to actively prevent HIV and sexually transmitted diseases in Northern Nevada. NNOT strives for prevention and awareness of HIV and STDs in our community. This is made possible by educational services, prevention materials, skill building, harm and risk reduction and opportunities for the community to test for HIV and STDs in non-traditional venues.
